Artist's Comments

So I had a TINY TINY bit of free time at work this past friday, so I took one of those many unfinished and undeserving images from my computer and decided to try to get it into shape to actually post. Well, not the most successful endeavor I've ever set out to accomplish, but whatever.
It's a simple display of how I often work. Start with the sketch, clean it up, then MAYBE slap some pathetic attempt at color on it. This particular character is from the Rose Petal Place toy line, animated special and series of books that I was quite fond of in my younger days. Her name was Iris and she was the shy artist.

Nice work.

The shading on the bell of the dress is particularly nice.

You ship what you want & leave me to ship my Kataang. Remember to treat all fans with respect & how you would want to be treated.

Don't like your ship being called delusional then don't call mine disgusting. Promoting Respect For All Fans! :)

Oh brother, does this ever bring back memories. I think I had one of the books back in the day, but I totally forgot about it.

That's so adorable! And I dig the coloring. Definitely a cool way to see how you work.

Oh, you did all of this on the computer? Lol, I thought the colored version was done in watercolor. I think it looks good. I always like to see these progression works. I think it helps us understand more of how artists create.
