Well, "Green Lantern: First Flight" is almost at it's release date, which can only mean one thing. I'm not sure what that thing is, but I think it may be that I've been totally lazy and have not yet put up any of my production artwork from Wonder Woman. So let's do that now:
These are all the turns I did for the Wonder Woman movie....except maybe Persephone whose body, I think, may have been done by Lynell Forestall. And then I slapped her head from my head turn on it. I think.

But anyway, looking at them now, there are a lot of things that make me cringe and a lot of things I would have done differently. But hell, it was my first time being PAID to character design and it was definitely an awesome learning experience. And thank goodness and character design flaws didn't show in the animation....

I guess I should say that this artwork is property of Warner Bros and not for reproduction or resale or whatever it is they say, blah blah blah, legal jargon.... THE END.

Hey, Lauren. When you guys do your turnarounds, is it done digitally on a computer or old school drafting table with paper and pencil?? I remember back in the day I was using an 11x17 paper to do my turnarounds and post-its to fix things or to make changes. Is that method still allowed in a big studio such as Warner Bros. ?

The woods are lovely.
They are dark and they are deep.
How I love the woods.

Turnarounds are done both ways. It's just up to the artists. Some have gone digital. Others still use the paper and post its.

I love the Design for Diana's Mother. It's surprising how close the final animation is compared to the designs, You guys definitely had a good animation team. I always wanted to ask you this but is the look of Aries inspired by Gemma from Ninja Scroll? I can see a bit of a resemblance between them.

I was definitely influenced by that artist's male faces. I can't remember the artist's name to save my life, but he did the ninja scroll designs and vampire hunter D designs. He has a creepy/suave quality to the faces of his robust males that I really wanted to bring through in the Ares design. A friend of mine says it's the lips. According to him anytime you put lips on a male character that isn't supposed to be black, it's creepy.

I know the top one is WW, and one is Queen Hippolyta, but who are the other characters?
